The Moore Law Group is a creditors’ rights law firm. We are seeking for a full time File Clerk for our Santa Ana office. The File Clerk will primarily be responsible for executing and monitoring the filing of legal documents for collections matters at the firm. Our firm is high-volume, therefore we are looking for somebody who is able to effectively communicate with staff and outside parties while handling their workload as well. Experience is an asset but we will train. This a great opportunity for someone who is seeking legal experience!

Essential Functions:

  • Scan and properly name, file, date and distribute all incoming documents from daily mail, faxes and attorney services
  • Copy, scan and send all signed court documents within firm or client deadlines
  • Scan and send all signed letters and correspondence in a timely manner
  • E-filing
  • Import client data, files and reports into our system (JST)
  • Export data and manage reports in excel
  • Provide backup to other members of our team
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Protect the confidential information that is part of the job functions and responsibilities.
  • Maintain knowledge of current practices and procedures of collections practice including client policies and procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements, deadlines and steps required in the collections process in order to transition data/information to and from the client without delays or missed steps in the process.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements, disclosure and reporting for CFPB, FDCPA, etc.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED (Two years college or equivalent work experience preferred)
  • Legal experience preferred
  • Most office experience a plus
  • Positive, enthusiastic personality
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to overcome difficult scenarios
  • Proficiency with database software and MS Office Suite

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Sedentary work with repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, typing, and analyzing data. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment.
