Litigation clerk is responsible for executing on litigation processes as directed by their supervisor or attorney. Responsibilities to include production of court documents, filing of documents, and follow-up as needed with the correct parties. Clerk will need to be comfortable calling and/or emailing courts, process servers, and/or sheriffs. Clerk is able to work in a fast paced environment and is familiar with meeting daily and monthly operations goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare, review and edit litigation documents in accordance with client and firm policies and procedure
- Request documentation from clients and courts or vendors
- Prepare and file legal filings with state and federal courts
- File and follow up on court filings
- Communicate with staff and outside parties
- Accurately enter data into internal systems
- Personally accountable for adhering to compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations per all client and company policies and procedures.
- Data entry - Log-in of filings, correspondence, document preparation, note taking, and use of client codes.
- Communicate updates, modifications, and requests with collectors, managers, attorneys when necessary.
- Update account statuses accordingly.
- Monitor and adhere to court mandated changes.
- Perform other duties, as requested.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Previous litigation or collections experience. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Must be able to work with minimal guidance to prioritize and handle multiple concurrent tasks. Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills and good oral communication.Physical Demands and Work Environment

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. This position involves sitting most of the time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and color vision in reading a computer monitor. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary work with repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, typing, and analyzing data. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment.
