Collector I
Position Summary
The Collector I is an entry level position whose responsibility is to process payments on pre-approved payment plans and assist the collections department to make outbound calls when needed. This position will transition into a more experienced collector role with added responsibilities within the firm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Take incoming calls to process payments on pre-approved payment plans
- Assist Collections Department in making outbound client calls when needed
- Follow up with consumers on missing agreements and stipulated agreements
- Perform data entry duties in collection system
- Review phone messages to be rightfully distributed to collection floor
- Contribute to meeting team and company goals
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience in a customer service or call center preferred
- Positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Commitment to excellent customer service
- Proven ability to overcome difficult scenarios in a calm manner
- Proficiency with database software and MS Office Suite
- Accounts receivable experience a plus

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. This position involves sitting most of the time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and color vision in reading a computer monitor. Clear speech is needed to communicate on the telephone.

Pay:
$16.00 - $20.00 an hour
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary work with repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal, reading, typing, and analyzing data. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment.
